Avoid debt when spending abroad

Money Saving Expert, the website that helps consumers save money on all aspects of their financial planning and debt problems has launched a guide on the cheapest credit cards to use when spending abroad.

Many providers charge excessive fees for the service meaning holidaymakers can have a nasty surprise when they return home to the UK.

Debit Cards are the worst kinds of plastic to use abroad with Halifax, Lloyds and RBS identified as having the worst products in this sector.

The Abbey took the crown for the best credit card for overseas spending for it's Zero card which charges no fixed fees for spending or withdrawing cash.
